Set in relaxed surroundings, you’ll find great fashion and bargains plus a line-up of hands-on experiences and fun events for every member of the family at Hornsea Village, easily reached from Hull or Bridlington. 

There’s never been a better time to visit! New this summer is an exciting programme of free events running throughout the school holidays and weekends, perfect for keeping little ones and the whole family entertained – whatever the weather! 

Book the kids into Saturday Stars to meet some of their favourite TV characters such as Paddington, Gabby and Cakey from Gabby’s Dollhouse and Bluey. Enjoy stories, meet and greets, high-fives and the chance to have a selfie with the Saturday Stars themselves!

Families can also get stuck into Wild Wednesdays — nature-inspired craft sessions running weekly through the school holidays — and don’t miss the Wild Weekend over the August Bank Holiday, packed with fun for all ages. 

Hornsea Village is also championing local makers, artists, and small businesses through markets like the Little Hummingbird Market, Be Happy Makers Market, and the Hornsea Collective Creative Summer Weekend, which invite visitors to meet local creatives and enjoy live demos and workshops.

After you’ve scored some great bargains and stopped at Fresco Gourmet Café for delicious coffee and treats, you’ll find plenty of things to do to keep everyone entertained.

Hornsea Pottery, a vital part of the town’s heritage that lives on through creative workshops from The Potteries, welcoming people of all ages to get hands-on and create their own pieces. 

And for a fun adventure, step into Bugtopia, Hornsea’s very own indoor tropical rainforest! This family-run zoo is home to free-roaming residents and exotic creatures — from colourful parrots and butterflies to reptiles, creepy crawlies, and even a curious Asian civet. It’s a wild, educational experience that’s perfect for curious kids and nature-loving grown-ups. 

For those exploring the Trans Pennine Trail, the Hornsea Village Information Centre is once again home to an active stamping point — offering a warm, well-equipped place to pause and recharge. 

With essential facilities including clean toilets, a welcoming café, and shaded seating areas, it’s an easy and comfortable stop for both cyclists and walkers.

In addition, Hornsea Village has partnered with the local council to offer a Learn to Ride course aimed at children aged 4 to 10. This initiative helps young riders build confidence and develop crucial cycling skills—including mounting and dismounting, balance, steering, and braking.
